Biomass Conversion

This is the process in which you take many different organic materials for example wood waste, and burn it for direct energy, Another example is, biomass alcohol, also know as ethanol which is derived from corn. This can be used as a main fuel source or it can be added to gasoline to produce E85 and E25. The Biomass conversion research laboratory at Michigan State University, are developing effective ways to convert organic materials to biomass. They are creating many cost effective ways to generate fuel, materials, and foods from biomass. By implementing this process we can help society with its environmental problems and reduce the overall oil consumption.

Flex Ethanol

Coskata is a renewable energy company whose less expensive technology helps develop and produces fuels and chemicals from biomass and other agricultural wastes. They help produce FlexEthanol™ which is ethanol made from trash, agricultural residuals and many carbon containing materials. This is a huge benefit because they are making ethanol from wastes not food products like corn and sugarcane.

Algae Production Systems

The production of Algae based fuels is an excellent alternative source of fuel. These algae as part of photosynthesis process algae can make oil and generate about 15 times more oil per acre, while other plants used for bio-fuels such as corn and switch grass produce less. Producing ethanol and other essential fuels from algae is not a difficult task, it’s just that there so many other beneficial products that can be produced by algae such as, carrageenan and agar. Algae oil producing companies such as Solix are creating products such as the Lumian AGS4000.This machine is a highly efficient AGS which puts out 4000 liters of algae oil. In 2009 Solix demonstrated AGS4000 can produce multi-ton quantities of algae biomass. Many companies like Solix are continuing to produce algae using this and many other methods of producing algae oil which can be converted into energy and fuel products. Algae production systems allow us to make greater quantities of fuel, which can benefit the world greatly in improving the environment and also limiting the consumption of fossil fuels.

Algae Biomass is the most resourceful out of the other bio masses.
